Wildlife Documentry Filmmaking
At Safari Kings, we understand that capturing the true essence of wildlife whether it be for for broadcast, documentary or high-end cinematic projects demands the highest level of technology, expertise and field knowledge. Modern wildlife filming increasingly relies on gyrostabilised camera systems such as the GSS (Gyro-Stabilised Systems) and the Shotover to deliver rock-steady, cinematic footage. These sophisticated gimbals provide ultra-smooth, dynamic motion capture that brings animals and landscapes to life with broadcast-quality precision across UHD and 8K workflows, even in the most challenging environments.
Mark Fitzsimmons, co-owner of Safari Kings, is a highly experienced helicopter pilot with 9000+ flight hours and decades of expertise in aerial photography and filming. He was the first operator in Australia to own and operate a GSS
(Gyro-Stabilised System) and has hands-on knowledge across both major filming systems. This technical and operational expertise (along with his wildlife photography background) translates directly to vehicle-based shoots with advisory input on camera placement, movement planning, purpose built mounts, safety considerations and the creative approach supporting both bespoke media assignments and complex, structured production workflow.
On the ground and in the field, co-owner, Elia Mollel brings an unrivalled depth of film guiding experience that has been trusted by leading international organisations including the BBC and National Geographic. Elia’s understanding of wildlife behaviour, movement patterns, and natural rhythms earned over years guiding and assisting film crews in East Africa ensures that production teams are always positioned for the most compelling and authentic footage.
For film productions in Tanzania and Kenya, we have direct access to Shotover and GSS systems that can be temporarily imported to capture stunning cinematic imagery. Combined with our expertise, Safari Kings Tanzania is well-equipped to support high-end wildlife filming projects across East Africa’s legendary savannahs and untamed wilderness… Please contact us for further information via email or phone.
